8 days until we begin our trip, so really only one more full week in san diego- craziest thing in the world. i kind of can't believe it. last night in the process of moving/packing i saw (99% sure) an animal in our room which freaked us out more than anything. this animal come to find out was a possum. a possum is living in our room. we wound up finally sleeping on two desks in the office at 4:30 am. so ridiculous. i'm now back in the room waiting to see if the thing will come out and make another appearance. apparently there are a lot of earthquake predictions this & next week up the coast. i hope i finally feel one (as long as i dont die) missed, or didn't really miss, but did not feel the 5.17.09 la/sd 5.0 quake on sunday. bummer.

the day we were supposed to leave. until my body decided to do something ridiculous and had to make several urgent care visits. of course this would happen right before we're trying to make a trip across the country. at least they gave me a bottle of vicodin which will come in handy im sure. this annoyance of doctor visits though pushed back our trip two days and we finally left may 29, 2009 at 2:30 am. after my mom had clearly told me not to drive at night. i figured since it was so late in the night it was kind of like it was just "really early" in the morning. it turned out to be the best idea because we hit no traffic and made it to san fran in 6 hours since i decided to drive roughly 95 mph the entire way and managed to make it in one piece and received no speeding tickets. high five.
